The two-channel Quiet Sounds installs in just minutes without any tools, so you can enjoy the benefits of wireless video and audio monitoring right away. Compact and lightweight, the monitor can then be attached to the included belt clip or simply placed on any flat surface (a stand is included); you can also use the included mounting hardware and mount it to a wall.
Once installed, the 900 MHz camera transmits clear pictures and sounds to the video monitor with ranges up to 350 feet (clear line of sight) and 100 feet (obstructed). And it's a snap to add up to two more cameras (sold separately) if you wish to simultaneously monitor more rooms, an option that's especially convenient as your family grows.
Crystal Clear Reception
This handheld monitor utilizes the latest FM band technology to provide crystal clear reception. In addition, it has an easy to read, 1.8-inch, high resolution, full color LCD display and LED sound lights. Most importantly, this monitoring solution avoids interference caused by other 2.4GHz devices commonly found in the home--like 2.4 GHz cordless phones and wireless 802.11 computer networks--so you won't have to worry about excessive static.

One of the most helpful and unique features of the Quiet Sounds monitor is its night vision capabilities, which allow parents to check up on their sleeping baby without disturbing his or her rest. Nine built-in infrared LEDs permit the camera to view clear black and white images within a distance of up to six feet in total darkness.
Another night-time option is to turn off the video button and choose the audio-only option. A super sensitive microphone built into the camera alerts sleeping parents that their baby is making noises, crying or moving around in his or her crib.
Longlasting and Reliable
This sleek plastic monitor comes with rechargeable batteries that lasts up to 10 hours. It also boasts a power-saver feature that times out after three minutes when running on the battery. For added convenience, external audio/video outputs provide connections to existing video recorder or home television, and you can even purchase headphone jacks for private monitoring.
What's in the Box
Video camera with transmitter, handheld monitor with receiver, two AC power adapters, rechargeable battery pack for monitor, wall mount bracket and hardware for camera, belt clip and stand for monitor, and user's manual.

Good monitor - wish it would have lasted longer
First off, the video and audio quality were exactly what we were after. No interference and great range around the house and yard. As others have mentioned, there are only 2 channels, and the signal is not secure. Our neighbors have the same monitor and they can see our baby and we can see their baby - luckily we're good friends with them so we're not too worried about this, but this may be a concern for others.
The reason why I'm not giving this more stars is the durability of the hand held unit. The battery life was almost non-existent after a year, which I can understand after repeated discharges and re-charges, this forces us to always use the plug and limits mobility for us at times, but this is not a major concern. If replacements were more readily available I would have purchased one.
The other problem is with the volume control. We have never dropped the hand held or abused it, but after a little less than 18 months began having problems with the volume control. First it would only work in certain positions, then it began to cut out without warning. This became a problem when I awoke one night to hear our daughter screaming, yet no sound from the monitor, the LED lights were working though. Now it works reliably only at full volume, which can deliver a rude awakening in the middle of the night if our daughter cries out. We know 2 other people with the exact same monitor, one has no problems other than battery life, the other has the same volume control problem we have.
I would consider this monitor again, but would think of it as having only a 2 year life span or less.

Should have bought this a long time ago
When my first was baby was born, I bought an audio monitor because we have a one storey house and I could easily go and check on him when I heard him.
THe problem is that sometimes he is just having a bad dream and by bursting in his room, I make things worse because I wake him up and then he does not want to go back to sleep.
I am expecting my second child and some friends of mine recommended this video monitor so I ordered it early and installed it in my toddler's room. What a relief!
Not only is it a pleasure to watch him sleep but also I am able to evaluate when a mommy visit is really necessary.
I am strongly considering buying a second camera to install in the baby's room so that I can keep an eye on my toddler!
And I strongly recommend this product. It has been working very well and the screen is large enough to give you a good look at the bed.

It's a good setup, but these monitors don't last more than a year
I have a 2.5 year old and a 10 month old. Since the birth of my first child, I have burned through two Summer handheld monitors. I tried to get the battery replaced on the first, but that solution only worked for a short while. I repurchased thinking I'd have better luck with a second unit. After only a few months, I started having problems with battery life in it. The second unit still works, but the battery won't hold a charge. Therefore, it only operates when it is plugged into the cord. It is still useful, but the portability is gone.
If battery life were not such an issue, the product would be great. I've had recurring problems with these, so I don't think I got a lemon. The batteries just don't last.

Bad reception and no security
I purchased this monitor as a replacement for a more expensive monitor after the handset broke. This baby monitor lacks any security so you are broadcasting out to the whole world your baby's room. There is significant audio and picture static and other interference. Our screen would sometimes pick up security cameras from a car dealership down the street. The handheld unit is very bulky and the camera mount makes it difficult to mount on the wall and angle. Considering this unit is 0 its a rip off. I would look elsewhere.

video screen stops working
We purchased this product for our baby over a year ago, and it seemed to work well for a few months. We couldn't be more pleased. It did what it said.
But all of a sudden, the video part stopped working, and we could no longer see our baby at all. The screen heated up and it probably killed the screen.
We ended up getting another one, same model.
The video on this one works for a few minutes, and when it gets hot, it stops working. We have to keep it off and only turn on the video when we really need to see our baby. And sometimes the video stops working for no reason at all. And it had now stopped working and we cannot see anything any more. And we have only had this new monitor for a few months.
Pretty disappointing, since the whole idea is to be able to see.
We are currently shopping around for a monitor that has a screen that actually works for a long time. Hope we find one.
